714. I’m Sitting Here in a Lot of Gratitude

00:00
09:09

Lesley Logan opens this FYF episode with an honest admission that everything takes longer than you want it to, even when you trust it will work out. From there she turns to gratitude, celebrating the round six eLevate group and two students who reclaimed overhead exercises they had not done in years. Their success came from staying curious rather than assuming the door had already closed. It is a warm, grounded case for honoring the wins right in front of you.

It's Fuck Yeah Friday.

Fuck yeah.

Get ready for some wins.

Lesley Logan 0:05

Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.

Lesley Logan 0:49

Hello, Be It babe. Welcome back to your Fuck Yeah Friday episode. These are kind of fun for me. I hope you're loving them. I would love to know if you're liking the new style, the new topic, the new "I need a moment," or if you preferred when I would rant about something I saw on the internet. I don't know. You let me know. This podcast is supposed to be for you. Otherwise, I'm just talking to myself. And by the way, I do that a lot because after this, I'm filming a YouTube episode, and then after that, I'm filming OPC classes. So I talk to myself a lot. So I would like to know if what I'm talking to myself about in this room is actually meaningful for you. So definitely let us know. You can send your wins in, or your topic suggestions or requests, to beitpod.com/questions. You can send anything there. And we've had lots of people go, "How do we support the show? We don't do Patreons." We got a lot going on. You can support the show a number of different ways. OPC, being a member of that is definitely one of the best ways you can support the show. That is the most meaningful, wonderful way to support this show. If that is something you're already doing, or if it's not and it's in the picture for you right now, another way to support the show is just subscribe on YouTube. You can subscribe to our show. You can subscribe to our Online Pilates Classes YouTube channel. Those are free. YouTube.com/@OnlinePilatesClasses, and then the Be It Pod is its own handle, so you can check those out and subscribe. Those are free. That's a great way to support. Some people are like, "How do I support charities that have no money? You have time." "I don't have time." "Well, then you have friends who have got time." "I don't have..." You have people in your life you can donate your sheets to. There are ways to support if you don't have time and money and lots. Sometimes it's just telling people about the thing that you love, or the thing that you want to support, or the thing that needs support.

Lesley Logan 2:22

So, all right, my "I need a moment" for today. Honestly, I really don't like that, we know once you get to a certain age, you realize that everything takes longer than you want, but you don't want it to, right? Everything takes longer than it's supposed to, but you don't want it to, and so I'm just frustrated because everything, everything, everything, everything is just taking longer than I want. And I know it's all going to happen the way it's supposed to. I know it's all going to work out the way it's supposed to. I know, but I hate how long things are taking. Just a month ago, I had this one contract that we thought was done 17 times. That's how many times we thought it was done, it got kicked back, and it got kicked back, and it got kicked back, and just like, I want to check this off the sheet. Why is this taking so long? And then on top of that, I had this other thing that I was doing, and it was supposed to get here on this date, and then it was on that date, and then this date. And it's like, okay, you're stressing me out. Now you can see why I lie to you about when things are due, so that I can get it when it needs to be done. Because my goodness, if I told you the real date, you would miss the real date and you'd fuck me over. And so I just hate that everything takes longer than you want to. And even when you know it, it's still disappointing. It just is.

Lesley Logan 3:39

All right. So enough of the ranting. Enough of the "I need a moment." My win is that we are heading into the fifth weekend of eLevate. So round six is all their education will be done after this weekend, which is insane. They still have their assessments to do and things like that. We still have loads of fun to have with them with their final assessments. But the learning of 500-plus exercises, they will have wrapped that this weekend. And to have done six rounds of this and still love it, I think, not to still love it, but to be so excited for the next one, it's just, I feel really lucky to get to do what I do, and that people are enjoying it. And it's been a really busy work season for me. This year is a really head-down, get-the-work-done year between the upLift beta program, getting things ready for the educators to apply this in the fall, and just really a lot going on there. And to be able to be present for all of my different projects is a massive win. And to just take a moment to celebrate what the round six peeps have done is important. And I'm really proud of them. I'm proud of the team. During their program, we had one of our major players on maternity leave and a new teammate come on, and I'm just so proud of the work that they have been doing together to make sure that program is as enjoyable as when it's been past team members and things like that. So they're just great. I'm really, really grateful, and what a win! So, yeah, I'm sitting here in a lot of gratitude for what I get to do, and really proud of that.

Lesley Logan 5:27

So the two wins I want to celebrate came through our spring training. We had two different people in two days have success doing overhead exercises that have been outside of their practice for years. And so, ladies, you know who you are. One gave a shout-out on Wednesday afternoon, and one on Thursday morning, end of the spring training event. And their wins are because they showed up for themselves. They were curious. They were focusing on the connections, and they didn't get in their head about, "Well, I haven't been able to do that in two years, so I can't do it today, so I'm not even going to try." They were listening to all the different teachers and all the different classes ahead of them, and really getting involved in it, getting interested in it, getting into it. And then because of that, they were able to listen to their body and go, "You know, maybe I'm going to try ." And I just want to say thanks for trusting us. And then, on top of that, thanks for celebrating and sharing with us, so we could celebrate you. It's really easy to compare yourself to your old self, to the body you used to have, and the things and exercises you used to be able to do, and then not take the win when you have it because, well, three years ago you could do that, and then some. And that's how the world would want you to do it, right? That's how people are raised. It's like, "Well, of course, you should be able to do that by now," and that's bullshit to me. To me, we will have exercises and abilities that will go in and out of our lives. Some will be in and out. Some will be out forever. Some will be in forever. We have to celebrate what we can do. We have to take a moment to do that each and every day because it's already hard. Life's already hard. So thank you to my ladies in spring training who shared their overhead success with us. It was fun for us to celebrate with you those classes, and I've just been thinking a lot about you as I've been recording wins for this month, and I just had to shout you out because I'm really proud and impressed by you. So thanks so much.

Lesley Logan 7:26

All right, send your wins in, my loves, to beitpod.com/questions so you can hear it on a day you need to. And your mantra for the weekend is I am lightening my load. I am lightening my load. I am lightening my load. Yes. So if you are feeling like lots of things are exiting your life right now, it's because you're lightening your load. So let it. Thank you so much, my love. Share our podcast with friends who need to hear it. And until next time, Be It Till You See It.
