726. Finding Grace, Big Projects, and Little Sleep

00:00
08:01

Lesley Logan celebrates opening applications for her upLift teacher training program, and explains what it takes to trust other educators with a curriculum she built herself. She also admits the new puppy is beating her alarm every single morning, and makes the case that a listener crossing an eye exam off her to-do list counts just as much as a big win.

It's Fuck Yeah Friday.

Brad Crowell 0:01

Fuck yeah!

Lesley Logan 0:02

Get ready for some wins. Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.

Lesley Logan 0:48

Yeah, because when you're an OPC member, then one, I know that you're actually doing something for you, and you're getting your cup filled, and you're getting a community, and you're getting accountability, and that's how this podcast gets paid for. So, thanks so much. That's how you can do it. So go to opc.me/40 to become an OPC member, or just go to onlinepilatesclasses.com. You don't want to be a member? Get our flashcards, get our posters, tell people about us, watch our videos. Means the world to us, right? If you're like, I don't even do Pilates, I just like this podcast. Hi, welcome. I'm glad you're here. Leave a review, share with a friend. There's lots of things you can do that are free that support small businesses. So thanks for doing all of that, and thanks for even asking.

Lesley Logan 1:41

So today's episode is a little rant, my win, a win of yours, a mantra, and we are on our way for the weekend. So at the time that I'm recording this, this is my rant. This rant hopefully is outdated by the time you hear this. I am recording this before I leave for tour, but my rant is that my lovely Darla, my beautiful, cute Darla, my sweet, sweet Darla. Darla's our new dog. In case we didn't announce that here, she wakes me up at night. She does. I thought she'd sleep for the night. She does not, and no, she does not. She actually, she knows my alarm's going to go off in 10 minutes, and then she sets it off before you send in. Like, oh yeah, they have a good internal clock. I was going to tell you right now. I get up at different times. I get to 4:45 some mornings, 5:15 some mornings, 5:30 at the latest. But still, somehow she always beats it. She does, and she is a big girl. So when she gets in the bed, you feel it, and then she takes up all the space. So I'm just gonna say, it's a good thing she's pretty, she's beautiful, she's really sweet. I know this too shall pass, but that perimenopausal ADHD trying to get sleep. Both those two things combined with a puppy. I'm feeling it. I'm feeling it. But my win is something you guys have been hearing about all year, actually. So throughout this year, I've had different wins where I was being kind of secretive about the project I was working on, and recently I got to announce what the project was. I have a teacher training program for new teachers or partially trained teachers, and I'm really, really stoked about the response people have and how people are excited about it and all that stuff. And we're at the date now; it's filling. There's so much to do when you take on a beast of this size; it's just so much to do. But the thing that I'm the most excited, nervous, anxious about is I've opened up the applications for our educators in the next few days. If it's not now, because I know I just I'll have done the coaching, the group call, the Q&A call, and all that stuff, and so we'll open up the applications. And so this only people can apply are people who did eLevate, so that I know who I'm approving to teach. I know how they are. I know their personalities.

Lesley Logan 3:41

I know all of it. I know the journey. I know how they approach challenging situations. I want to make sure, you know, I you can't control everybody or everything, but I want to make sure that I can confidently say I know the person who is about to teach you. And so this is the next big step in the upLift teacher training coming to fruition, right? I have to have educators first. So my win is we've opened up applications, and so the next step is I just get to start approving people and talking with people. And the next time you hear wins will be about who I've accepted and the training program they're going to be going through because I have to train them on how to deliver the curriculum that I created. But you know, just to be at this stage in the process is awesome. It just feels, okay, it's becoming more and more real. It's not just me because I've never wanted this program to be about just me. It is my thesis. It is my theories. It is my values. But it is bigger than me. You know, it's bigger than the educators who will teach it too. It's just really about the students and the people that they're going to impact, and so I'm super, super excited about it, and just I'm just blessed.

Lesley Logan 4:47

So, if you are wanting to have more information about upLift, you are someone who's interested in being a Pilates instructor, or you are partially trained instructor, you can get on the waitlist at xxll.co/uws, it's xxll.co/uws. If you are a comprehensively trained teacher and you want to study with me, then you want eLevate. But if you don't want to wait till 2028 or beyond, you can actually bridge with one of my educators through upLift. So it's my stuff, just with somebody else. So it just depends on your desire. If you want to be an educator of upLift, then you want eLevate. If you just want to go through it because you want a bridge, then you can go through upLift. You don't have to wait. You can go to a local educator near you. Okay, that's great. That's I'm excited.

Lesley Logan 5:32

Okay, this is the part where I show you when, I was about to just give you a mantra and go on, but hello, Lesley, get it together. This is from @jennvfitness. I got both a haircut and eye exam done off my to-do list this week. Good for you. I had LASIK 13 years ago, so I'm just so grateful that I'm out of the eye exam stage. I'm sure it's going to come back into my life, but for right now, I'm doing pretty good. But I remember having that on my to-do list and having that and a haircut in the same week. Way to slay. So thank you. See, wins can be as simple as getting your eye exam done. You guys, it don't have to be a huge project, but honestly, wins can be super, super small. Wins can be that you actually just went to bed the time you said you were going to be, and from ADHD, people going to bed the time you said you were going to go to bed was massive win. It's like you should get an award for it.

Lesley Logan 6:17

So, anyways, I'm so grateful for you. Thank you for listening to the Be It Pod podcast, please leave a review or share your favorite episode with a friend. And here is your mantra: I embrace my imperfections with grace. Well, we should say that a few times. I embrace my imperfections with grace. I embrace my imperfections with grace. That is a lot of rhyming. I'm really grateful that we did that together. And you guys, until next time, Be It Till You See It.

Lesley Logan 6:45
