741. Why Saying No Actually Earns You More Respect

00:00
05:17

A frustrating hair day turns into a real lesson in boundaries when a teammate knows exactly when to step aside. Lesley Logan explains why honoring limits builds deeper trust, and why the person who says no is often worth keeping close. She also celebrates listener wins around consistency and guilt-free rest, proof that showing up and slowing down both count.

It's Fuck Yeah Friday.

Brad Crowell 0:01

Fuck yeah!

Lesley Logan 0:02

Get ready for some wins. Welcome to the Be It Till You See It podcast where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring. I'm Lesley Logan, Pilates instructor and fitness business coach. I've trained thousands of people around the world and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt. My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear. Each week, my guest will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and Be It Till You See It. It's a practice, not a perfect. Let's get started.

Lesley Logan 0:47

Hey, Be It babe. How are you? Welcome back to our Friday episodes. Oh my gosh. Okay, so this Friday you're hearing this, and I'm about to go into a whirlwind of trains, planes, and automobiles. So we are praying to the travel gods that everything goes well, but today is also a Fuck Yeah Friday, which means we get to vent a little bit, and you get to share some wins, and you get a mantra, and get on your day, and that means I get to share your wins. And so when you send them into the beitpod.com/questions, it really helps because then I can share it with you on the date you might need to hear. You might be stuck in traffic and going, "Oh my god, that's a win I had a month ago, thank God, I'm being reminded of that. Right. Before we get into your win, because being in my communities, you know, you can vent, but you have to have a win. So I'm gonna tell you right now, my hair looks really good on this video if you're watching it. But I've been annoyed with my hair because it feels like it only looks good the day I wash it. It air dries so cute, and then it's a tangled mess, and then I brush it, and then it's never cute again. Don't even come at me with your spray bottles. I've tried them all. I've bought everything that's for type two A hair, aka Irish hair. I've tried everything. It doesn't work, so I'm just frustrated because I just want to have pretty hair without spending an hour on it every day. My makeup only takes eight minutes, right? So, anyways, here's what happened that's a win, my hairdresser, my love, and I was like, "Can we like shave my head? Can we cut it off? Can we do this? And she's, "No, no, no, no, no." And then finally, the girl who cuts hair next to her was wonderful. And I've talked to her every time I come in. I love her. She said, "My hairdresser, who does my hair, dyes my hair. She's cutting your hair. She's going to be the one that does it. She's doing it. And so that girl's, "When am I seeing you? Okay when I get back from tour. So after I record this, I am going to get my hair cut by someone who is going to do a great job. And I love my girl who dyes my hair, but she really truly wants someone else to cut it, and I respect that. Like I actually truly respect that. I think that is so amazing. So a win is also that I have an amazing team around me. Who is I'm not the person who's doing this for you. And I love that she has boundaries like that, so that's a win for her as well.

Lesley Logan 2:44

All right, your win is from @cori_ca111, "I did a reformer workout 3 times this week, with one of your YouTube freebies." I love reading that. I'm glad you got to enjoy. We've got a couple reformer workouts on there. They're old. You guys have to go look for them, but they exist, so put new ones out every week on OPC. But way to get three in a week-that is amazing. And then this one is from @home_grown_pilates, "I got to sleep in. It was fabulous." I love that you are treating that as a win because I do think so many people go, "Oh, I slept in, I screwed up, and you're like, "Oh my god, it was fabulous! Like way to celebrate taking care of you.

Lesley Logan 3:20

All right, loves. So the Be It Pod is here for you. It's here to support you. It's here to give you some great ideas for how to be it till you see it. Acting more like the person you want to be before waiting for it to be there. And I just hope that this is so helpful. So please let us know what your favorite takeaways are. What topics do you want us to make sure we're doing episodes on because we are actively finding guests on specific topics you've reached out to us about, and also done doing some solo episodes.

Lesley Logan 3:45

And here is your mantra: "I am enough just as I am. I'm enough just as I am. Be It babe, you are enough just as you are. Go have an amazing, amazing weekend. Thank you so much. I'll talk to you soon. Oh, and until next time, Be It Till You See It.
