Hi, Be It babe. How are you? Happy Friday! I just looked at the date on this episode, so I also want to just acknowledge that it is September 11th. Today is our Fuck Yeah Friday episode. It is the episode where we can have a little vent moment. We get to share some wins. We do an affirmation. We just are human beings together. And I just want to say, I'm recording this in the past, and I don't know how today feels for a lot of us. You know, I had a whole different thing to vent about, but I think what I most am sad about on this day, as we approach, it's like the 20-ish, it's the 25th anniversary of 9/11, and I know it's hard for people to watch videos and go back to that time. And I also feel like the further we get from it, the more we forget it happened, and it happened, and it affected people tremendously. And I was watching this show on, I think it's on HBO. It's Homicide New York, and it's a Dick Wolf thing. So it's real detectives doing homicide. So it's SVU, but not because it's the real stuff, and they're real New Yorkers or real cops. And however you feel about that, it's really interesting stories. And on the last season that I watched, the last episode was on 9/11, and they told their stories, and they showed these videos, and they showed these photos, and they talked about their families, and they talked about wearing a suit and running, and the health things that they've had afterwards.

And I think I just want to say, I do understand how hard it can be for us to, every year, watch the video of the attack, but I do think it's important that we remember the stories of the people whose lives were lost or affected by this day. I think that that is one of the most patriotic things we can do in a world where it feels hard to be patriotic. To be honest, I don't feel that way about the fourth, but I just want to say on this day, I felt so far away from it when I was when it happened. I was in college in Southern California, so far away and so young. I didn't have a TV, you know. I didn't even get to see any of the footage because all the only TV that I knew about was in the women's dorms, and we couldn't go there. And so I really felt so far away and unaware of how it affected people, the economy, and so I was reading it in People magazine, you know, that kind of thing. So I'll just say, it took me a little longer than I would like to be completely, fully immersed in all that happened. It makes me sad today that there's people who'd even challenge that it did, or how it did, or why it did, and you know, so I miss the time when we just all got together and really loved each other. So, if you lost anyone or you were affected in any way by 9/11, my heart is with you today, and always, because we can't pretend like those things didn't change us, whether or not you were an 18-year-old at college and unsure of what the world was, or you were in New York, right? Gotta take care of each other.

Now, win my win for today, and it actually has to do with I made a new friend, right? This is a funny win, but I like to share it because I'm an adult. I'm almost 44 years old, but I'm, I made a new friend, and it was really fun. We were, we, she's been on the podcast, so we talked, and I was on her podcast years and years ago, and then we just didn't connect again. And then she thought of me for a thing, and she invited me, and we just picked up where we left off. No apologies for, hey, it's been six years since we talked. None of that. It was just like, and we were vulnerable with things in our life and just honest and no competition whatsoever. We're actually in the same sort of industry when it comes to coaching, and I mean different. She's in fitness and I'm in Pilates, but it was just nice to be with a person and talk. And our husbands got along. We got along with each other's husbands. It was just so much fun, and I just, it just was really nice. And so my win is, I could have easily not gone to the thing, because Lord knows I had 17,000 things to do. I could have easily not hung out for lunch because they need to drive home and I have a thousand things to do, but I think we both needed time, and so I've made a point to make sure that I reach out to her regularly because I am notorious for Aquarius brain. You're in there, and I'm thinking of you. But I just want to say, I don't say yes to everything, but if you are feeling lonely, if you're feeling you're alone on an island, then you should say yes to an invitation. You can always leave. Okay, you always leave.

Okay, your win that you sent in. This is from @etain_pilates. I apparently taught a banger of a class last night. My girls just loved it. It was all apparatus. Congratulations! That's so wonderful. Good for you. You know what? I love when a Pilates instructor acknowledges that they're fucking badass at what they do. Too many people in the Pilates industry are telling themselves a shitty story about how good they are as a teacher or how were they as a teacher, and all that is doing is allowing these VC firms to come in, open up studios with fake equipment, poorly trained teachers. Those poor teachers don't even know that they're poorly trained. They don't know. They think that they're getting a great job doing the thing that sounds so cool. Looks so cool on Instagram, and meanwhile, the most amazing teachers are over here going, "Oh my God, am I good enough?" Well, you are, you are. So thanks for sharing your win.
